Minimum wage cut would ‘hurt most vulnerable’

THE Small Firms Association (SFA) has come under fire following its calls for a cut in the minimum wage.

The body was accused of taking money from the working poor as it proposed to slash €1 an hour off pay cheques in a bid to curb rising dole queues.

Director Patricia Callan claimed the €8.65 national minimum wage was a significant contributor to youth unemployment.
