THE prospect of no Sunday Masses in some churches is not far off, a bishop has warned.

Dr Donal Murray, the Bishop of Limerick, said a lack of priests will necessitate increasingly painful changes for Irish Catholics.

“Priests will no longer be readily available, even for things that have been taken for granted like funerals, anniversary Masses and parish functions,” he said.
