Six arrested in gang death

SIX people, including a 16-year-old, were being questioned by Limerick gardaí last night in connection with the gangland murder of James Cronin whose body was found in a shallow grave on April 7.

Mr Cronin, 20, was suspected of being involved in the murder on April 5 of Mark Moloney who was shot dead as he walked near his home in Garryowen.

The murder was carried out by the McCarthy Dundon gang and they are suspected of murdering their own gang member, James Cronin, fearing he would ‘grass’ on them if arrested.
