ELEVEN people were rescued from the water in three separate incidents in Cork, Limerick and Dublin over the weekend.

A lifeboat came to the rescue of a family of five whose yacht ran aground in the Shannon estuary on Saturday while, earlier the same afternoon, an adult and two young girls were brought to safety at Cork Harbour.

Meanwhile, three teenagers who got into difficulty while attempting to row from Howth to Ireland’s Eye had to be rescued yesterday morning.
