Man gets 9 months for child sex clips

A HUNGARIAN national who downloaded sexually explicit video clips of children from the internet while he was living in Kinsale, Co Cork, last year, was jailed for nine months yesterday — one of the first to be imprisoned for such offences.

Gabor Istrauffy of 5 Monastery Gardens, Kinsale, pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to two counts yesterday — the opening day of the county sessions of that court.

The 29-year-old, who is engaged to be married, discovered the child pornography by accident. He told psychiatrist Dr David Dunne during an interview that he went looking for a pop song called Lolita and discovered it was a code word for child pornography.
