Inquest to wait for DPP review

AN INQUEST into the death of a popular young scout following a bicycle accident was opened and then adjourned yesterday.

Cork City Coroner’s Court was told that a file on the accident, which claimed the life of Dylan Stark, 15, from Lower Pouladuff Road in Cork, is still being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Dylan died after his bike was in collision with a taxi cab in Ballyphehane shortly after midnight on February 10 last.

City coroner Dr Myra Cullinane said a post- mortem had established that Dylan died from head, chest and abdominal trauma, due to a road traffic accident.

She agreed to adjourn the inquest pending an examination of the file by the DPP and his subsequent directions in relation to the matter.
