FG warn that Lisbon vote may turn into an anti-FF statement

FINE Gael supporters might be tempted to vote No in next month’s referendum on the Lisbon Treaty because of their anger with the Government, a TD has claimed.

The opposition party is campaigning vigorously for a Yes vote but is concerned that followers will not heed the advice of leader, Enda Kenny, and not use their vote to express dissatisfaction with the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen.

The latest opinion poll, published yesterday, shows a narrowing in the gap between Yes and No votes, with just eight percentage points between both sides.
