Kenny calls for urgency in CT scan rechecks

THOUSANDS of patients facing an eight-week wait to find out if their CT scans and X-rays were misread should be put out of their anguish immediately, Fine Gael last night demanded.

Leader Enda Kenny urged the Taoiseach to show the same urgency in dealing with the situation as was deployed in an earlier such scandal centred on Portlaoise.

During often heated exchanges in the Dáil, Mr Kenny said all 4,590 patients told by the HSE their X-rays and scans were being rechecked should be told the outcome within the next week.
