ISPCC: 338 children missing

HEALTH bosses have said drastic improvements have been made in the protection of children in its care after it emerged 338 had gone missing in seven years.

Yesterday, the Health Service Executive’s primary care services manager David Walsh, said this year the number of missing children had tapered off and just one child went missing in the first three months of 2008.

He said the HSE was now working to improve security measures to ensure vulnerable immigrant children are not preyed upon by human traffickers.
