Kenny shrugs off FG poll slump

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny tried to joke away his party’s dramatic slump in the polls last night.

Mr Kenny dismissed Fianna Fáil’s lead over FG rocketing from 3% to 16% as the result of “honeymoon adulation” for new taoiseach Brian Cowen.

“All honeymoons are assumed to be periods of delirious happiness, but the bills have to be paid when they come home.
