FOUR out of five voters have little, or no, understanding of the Lisbon treaty, a poll revealed yesterday.

But the independent Referendum Commission insisted there is still time to educate the electorate about the main issues in the treaty, before the June 12 vote.

Chairman Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O’Neill said a commissioner survey, carried out on April 14-16, showed the level of public understanding was currently “quite poor”.
