Clinic promises good hair days
The Wig Clinic has opened a new branch in the Boots outlet in Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork.
Already based in Mallow and on Barrack Street, the clinic provides expert advice from stylists, as well as a range of high fashion hair pieces, wigs and accessories for people suffering from hair loss.
It is specifically aimed at people who have lost their hair following medical treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy, or directly due to an illness such as alopecia
The clinic carries an extensive range of synthetic and human hair wigs as well as scarves, turbans and bandanas.
Its hi-tech wigs have synthetic hair strands with a built-in memory that allows them to return to their original shape.
Clients must make appointments for a private, free consultation.
Boots chief pharmacist Mary Rose Burke said they are delighted to partner with the clinic.
“We feel it will add a further dimension to the expert healthcare and advice we aim to offer all our customers,” she said.
The clinic’s Fiona O’Riordan said: “This new clinic at Boots in Wilton provides the perfect atmosphere for clients to try out many different styles and options in comfortable, private surroundings.”
Anne Hurley from Cork used the service after losing her hair following chemotherapy.
“The first time I went to work wearing the fringe and the bandana I was a little nervous but was amazed at the complimentary comments I received from people,” she said.
“I’m told I always look stylish which at this point in my life is very important for my confidence.”
