NIGHTCLUBS in the North are taking the lead in the fight against drugs by using sniffer dogs to bite back against the scourge of dealers on their premises.

A number of businesses in Co Down regularly have the dogs on their doors to prevent anyone who has either taken drugs or who has drugs in their possession from entering the club.

For the past month the owners of the Bannville House Hotel in Banbridge have had Molly the spaniel on their door sniffing the Saturday night clubbers to see if they have any illegal substances.
