Gang storms pitch during GAA match

A GROUP calling itself the Caherconlish Taliban halted an underage GAA game, when they stormed a field armed with hurleys.

The under-18 football game between the neighbouring parishes of Kilteely and Caherconlish was abandoned as the referee thought it safer to do so.

Before the game was due to start last Thursday, about 15 youths carrying hurleys arrived at Kilteely and were acting in aggressive manner.
