THE National Roads Authority (NRA) has been criticised for agreeing reluctantly to a “fleeting” appearance before an oral hearing into plans for a €226 million container terminal in Cork Harbour.

Despite several requests from An Bord Pleanála, the NRA had refused to attend its hearing into the Port of Cork’s project at Oyster Bank in Ringaskiddy.

But it emerged that the NRA has, after several contacts from the board, finally agreed to attend for just one hour next Wednesday.
