Day-Lewis looks the part, says GQ style list

ACTOR Daniel Day-Lewis has scooped yet another prize — named as being amongst the top-three Best-Dressed Men in Britain.

Day-Lewis looks the part, says GQ style list

Day-Lewis, who recently won an Oscar for best actor in There Will Be Blood, failed to win GQ magazine’s best-dressed list, topped by James Bond actor Daniel Craig.

The actor, who lives with his family in Wicklow, came third in the list — behind Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding.

David Walliams dubs the star the “Bowie of comedy” and adds: “He dresses like the star he is, and is living proof that girls love a man who is in touch with his feminine side.”

Newcomers include Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman (27th), who hit the headlines for complaining about Marks & Spencer’s pants, and who according to GQ, has “by speaking out on ties and the sorry state of male underwear has become one of menswear’s most unexpected provocateurs.”

Lewis Hamilton is also a newcomer in 15th place while Tory leader David Cameron slips from second place last year to eighth this year.

Meanwhile Kate Moss’s boyfriend Jamie Hince has been named one of the worst-dressed people in Britain.

The Kills star made the unglamorous ranks, despite the fact that his girlfriend is one of the world’s most influential people in fashion.

Instead, he has been named the 15th worst-dressed British man of 2008, one place below aspiring London mayor Boris Johnson.

The list also sees Prince William named one of the worst dressed men in Britain. Prince William is a new face on the worst-dressed list, at number 16, for just not getting “the hang of age-appropriate”.

His younger brother Prince Harry, his father the Prince of Wales, and even his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, make the best-dressed list.

Russell Brand topped the worst-dressed list for the second consecutive year for looking like a “cross between Worzel Gummidge and Lord Byron after a night on acid”.

New faces in the annual worst-dressed list include chef Gordon Ramsay, singer Mika, Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil, England footballer Wayne Rooney, and Stephen Fry.
