Freight truck depot robbery

FOUR truckloads of goods were stolen from a Limerick freight company depot over the weekend.

Freight truck depot robbery

The theft was discovered by staff yesterday morning.

Pallets loaded with children’s toys, clothing, hardware, furniture and a wide range of other goods were taken from four articulated trucks in the depot.

Supt Frank O’Brien said a considerable operation would have had to be mounted to move the amount of property stolen in the raid.

The last of the property had been loaded onto the four trucks on Saturday afternoon and was due to be delivered to various destinations today by the freight company.

Gardaí are accessing CCTV footage from various locations in Raheen Industrial Estate, where the freight company is based, to try to identify unusual traffic movements there between 2pm on Saturday and early yesterday morning.
