TEACHERS yesterday urged parents to support a call for inspectors to stay away from schools in the final term of the school year because of exam pressure.

The ASTI conference unanimously passed a motion seeking an undertaking from the Department of Education that no school inspections be carried out in the last term.

Drogheda delegate Kevin Brogan, proposing, said it was “absolutely draconian” for so much to be taking place in schools at such a time and inspections upset the whole school.
