Two get suspended jail terms for keeping horses

Council tenants John McCarthy, aged 37, of Cliona Park and Kieran Ryan, aged 24, of Craeval Park were prosecuted for not having licences in accordance with the provisions of the Control of Horses Act and contravening Limerick City Council bylaws.

The court was told that following approaches to the Minister for Defence Willie O’Dea army lands at Knockalisheen, a short distance from Moyross, are now being made available for horse owners in Moyross as part of the huge regeneration project which has commenced in the estate.
