Group ‘horrified’ by funding claims

A GROUP representing families affected by the organ retention scandal has rejected an official statement that its funding was cut off because of accounting irregularities.

Parents for Justice said they were “horrified” when the allegation was made by a Health Service Executive official at a meeting of the Oireachtas Committee on Health yesterday.

“That’s the first we’ve heard of that and we utterly refute it,” said spokeswoman Charlotte Yates. “We have already asked for a meeting with the HSE to see what they’re talking about.”
