TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern must play “no part” in the appointment of the new chairman of the Revenue Commissioners, Labour warned last night.

Mr Ahern is clearly conflicted because his affairs are being scrutinised by the Revenue, said Labour deputy leader Joan Burton.

The present Revenue chairman, Frank Daly, is set to retire from that position on March 12.
