Live bullets sent to officer

TWO people were being held by gardaí last night after death threats were made to a senior prison officer.

Bullets, packed in an envelope, were hand-delivered to a staff member at Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison. The mystery postman then fled the scene.

A 29-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were later arrested in relation to the incident.
