Road safety campaign launched at LIT

A CAMPAIGN to heighten road safety is being launched at the Limerick Institute of Technology.

It gets under way tomorrow which has been designated Black Rose Day.

Members of the students union want to get the message of road safety across to the 3,500 full-time and 3,000 part-time students.

Lee Cassidy, a member of the administrative staff at LIT, said the college is delighted the students have come up with the campaign which has the full support of the authorities.

Peter Moloney, vice president of the students union at LIT, said: “We will have car crash scenes replicated around the campus and we will re-enact a rescue from a car accident scene.”
