Residents object to land rezoning
Residents of the Kerries claim the proposed new plant would be 16 times the size of an existing plant and would have an annual throughput of 20,000 tonnes of waste. It would result in a huge increase in noise, dust and health hazards and would lead to property devaluation, they say.
“The proposal would radically change an area that is now zoned residential and agricultural. It will also set a precedent for future development,” a statement said.
