IRISH missionary fathers and nuns yesterday attended the funeral of a murdered Kenyan priest but vowed to continue helping the thousands of refugees in their parishes.

Up to 2000 people packed into the Christ The King Cathedral grounds in Nakuru, western Kenya for Fr Michael Kamau’s funeral. The 42-year-old was last week dragged from his car in his priest’s clothes and stoned to death by a gang.

Local Bishop Peter Kairu yesterday pleaded for an end to the post-election violence which has killed more than 850 people so far.
