Waterford bin strike deferred

Waterford bin strike deferred

Strike action by 143 SIPTU members was due to get under way last Monday but was deferred for a week after the sudden death of a colleague. However, the NIB has now invited both sides to a series of talks.

The industrial action was voted on by city council workers in Waterford following a number of claims by SIPTU over allowances and conditions. The council management have said they believe there is no substance to the employees’ grievances.
