Former tánaiste advises anti-Lisbon Treaty group

FORMER Tánaiste Michael McDowell has given legal advice to the anti-Lisbon Treaty group Libertas, the No campaign’s millionaire backer claimed last night.

Galway-based multimillionaire Declan Ganley said Mr McDowell was a “valuable part” of the legal team advising the pressure group.

“He’s one of our legal advisers. He’s part of a legal team that we retain and has given us advice on some matters.” Mr Ganley told TV3’s The Political Party.
