Bord Gáis probes death

BORD GÁIS has launched an investigation into the death of a man from carbon monoxide poisoning at his home in Limerick.

James Duggan, who was in his 40s, was found dead on Monday at his home in Carragh Avenue, Caherdavin.

Gardaí are treating the death as an accident.

Bord Gáis has called in experts from England to help it in the investigation into the death.

A check is being carried out at Mr Duggan’s home to ascertain whether any repairs were undertaken recently.

Up to 40 people die each year in this country from carbon monoxide poisoning, which occurs after the inhalation of the gas.
