New bank sponsor for premier sailing regatta

IRELAND’S premier sailing event has found a new sponsor for this summer’s yachting extravaganza, which is expected to boost till receipts in the Cork area by up to €20 million.

Details of ACC Bank’s sponsorship of Cork Week were announced yesterday at the prestigious London boat show.

Second only to Cowes in the Isle of Wight as Europe’s largest regatta, Cork Week is expected to attract more than 500 boats and 5,000 sailors when it is staged between July 12-18.
