Dell workers give 25,000 hours to help community

WORKERS at Limerick’s biggest manufacturing plant gave more than 25,000 hours of their own time last year — the equivalent of 3,125 working days — helping local community initiatives.

Employees at the giant Dell computer plant in Raheen industrial estate volunteered their time and raised funds through a range of both company and employee-led programmes.

Dell donated large quantities of computer hardware to qualifying organisations during the year. Recipients represented either youth or education groups and were required to demonstrate the benefits that the donated equipment would have.
