Founders of Cork charity off to aid African tribe

THREE Cork people who founded a charity to help an east African tribe are to fly to Tanzania next month to undertake an aid project for the tribe.

Estelle Aitken, Margo O’Leary and Michael Swann will be among a group of people who will travel to the northern highlands of Tanzania on January 7, where they hope to provide basic needs such as water, shelter and food for the Maasai.

Their base during this trip will be in a town called Moshi, at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
