GARDAÍ made a significant seizure of guns and drugs in west Dublin yesterday involving a large amount of cocaine and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

The seizure of crystal meth has caused particular concern, given the heightened alert in Ireland to the relatively new, and highly addictive, stimulant.

The raid was part of an operation by a special garda unit into the activities of an organised crime gang, based in the Clonkdalkin and Blanchardstown area.
