Ombudsman hits back at Garda Review over editorial comments

THE Garda Ombudsman Commission has hit out at the Garda Representative Association (GRA) for comments it made about the watchdog in its official journal.

An editorial in the October issue of the Garda Review heavily criticised the decision by the commission to lodge a last-minute application to adjourn an inquest into the death of two armed robbers by gardaí.

On September 25, the commission made the application to Dublin City Coroner’s Court as the jury in the inquest was deliberating its verdict.
