Public to pick music awards

IRELAND’S national music awards, where the public gets a chance to choose some of the country’s best performers, was launched yesterday.

Public voting for the Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2008 is under way and the star-studded spectacular, now in its eighth year, will be held in the RDS Dublin on Friday, February 15.

New to the 2008 awards is the category of Best Regional DJ which aims to recognise the wealth of talent in regional radio stations.
