THE Health Service Executive (HSE) yesterday came under fire because of delays in providing community-based services for psychiatric patients in Kerry.

Nursing and other staff are “completely dissatisfied” at the lack of progress being made pending the closure of St Finan’s Hospital in Killarney, said Donie Doody, secretary of the Kerry Nursing SIPTU branch.

He said they had been seeking community-based services since 1996.
