Lynn to be cross-examined by Law Society over dealings

WITH estimated liabilities of about €80 million, solicitor Michael Lynn is to be cross-examined by lawyers for the Law Society over two days in the High Court about his dealings in relation to six properties. The hearing was fixed yesterday to open on December 12.

Mr Lynn will be cross-examined by Shane Murphy SC, for the society, before the President of the High Court, Mr Justice Richard Johnson. His evidence is not admissible in any criminal proceedings as he is required by court order to attend for cross-examination in the High Court.

Mr Lynn, whose practice, Michael Lynn & Company, has been closed by the society, has been accused of taking out multiple mortgages on the same properties and has estimated liabilities of some €80m. He was not in court yesterday and is said to be suffering from tonsillitis.
