Daily chats ‘not necessary’ for Harney and Drumm

HEALTH Minister Mary Harney and the Health Service Executive (HSE) chief executive Brendan Drumm do not speak on a daily basis.

A spokesperson for Ms Harney last night said it was “not necessary” that they do so.

As the scale of the communications failure between the Government and HSE on the cancer issue became clear, the Irish Examiner inquired how often the minister and the chief executive were in contact with each other.
