SUPERMARKET giant Tesco buys more Irish food and drink than nations such as the US, Germany and France, according to a report out today.

The British group buys Irish produce to stock the shelves of its stores in Britain and Ireland and 11 countries worldwide, including Poland, Turkey and China.

Today, a report based on research by consultants Indecon is expected to stress the importance to the nation’s economy of Tesco’s purchases of Irish food and drink.
