Rhys Meyers arrested at Dublin airport

CORK-born actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, star of The Tudors TV series, was arrested at Dublin Airport yesterday afternoon and charged with public order offences.

The 30-year-old star was due to fly to London having spent the weekend in Dublin where he appeared on the Tubridy Tonight chat show to talk about his new movie, August Rush.

Rhys Meyers was charged with being drunk and a breach of the peace and was released to appear before Dublin District Court next month.
