Heroin seizure: two held

TWO men were in the custody of Bandon gardaí last night after the seizure of €200,000 worth of heroin in the town.

The first man, aged 34, was arrested on Friday evening after a search of a housing estate off the Clonakilty Road uncovered a consignment of drugs. The second man, aged 28, was arrested the following day when he tried to dodge a garda checkpoint.

They are being questioned under the terms of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act which allows investigators to hold them for up to seven days.
