Hope autopsies will reveal answers

POSTMORTEMS were being carried out yesterday on the bodies of the family of seven who died in the Omagh house fire tragedy.

Convicted sex offender Arthur McElhill, 39, his partner Lorraine McGovern and their five children died in the early hours of Tuesday when their end-of-terrace home at Lammy Cresent in the Co Tyrone town was engulfed in flames.

A pathologist who specialises in child death is, it is understood, carrying out the postmortems on the children — Caroline, 13, Sean, 7, Bellina, 4, Clodagh, 18 months, and baby James.
