A CHILLING report into events at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital which forced parents to wheel their own gravely ill teenage girl to theatre when a porter could not be located has been sent to Health Minister Mary Harney.

John Hennessy, the manager of acute hospitals in the mid-west who investigated the matter, has brought a series of alarming findings to Ms Harney’s attention after she demanded an urgent report into the matter.

After the 17-year-old girl was rushed to A&E with internal bleeding on October 23, she was stabilised and made ready for transfer to theatre.
