File prepared on man suspected of making fake money and driving licences

GARDAÍ are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) after gardaí arrested a foreign national who is suspected of producing dud euro notes and fake foreign driving licences.

The man, from eastern Europe, is believed to have developed contacts with local criminals in Co Laois, who had successfully passed quantities of the cash through local businesses in recent months.

The individual was arrested last Friday after gardaí received a warrant to search his house in Mountrath.
