The drugs, with an estimated street value of about €250,000, were recovered as part of a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit and Customs.

The drugs were found in a package delivered in air freight during checks by Customs officials at Dublin Airport.

A surveillance operation was set up to see who would collect the package.

The men were subsequently arrested and detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda Stations.

They were held under the Drug Trafficking Act and taken to Dublin District Court on Saturday.

The three were charged with possession and possession with intent to supply and remanded to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
