CONSUMERS remain unhappy with the way banks, credit card firms and lenders handle complaints — despite a new charter on customer rights.

The Financial Regulator introduced a consumer code in July to govern how financial firms deal with customers.

But yesterday the Consumers’ Association of Ireland (CAI) said customers needed tougher protection from banks.
