HOMEOWNERS trying to sell their houses are having to wait longer to clinch a deal while one in 10 is having to cut the asking price, new figures show.

Research shows that one in every five homes or flats listed for sale in January on the Daft.ie property website is still on the market.

Meanwhile, the average price of a home for sale on the website is €368,000, down 2% in three months.
