A BRAZILIAN who worked at a Charleville food company, denies stabbing his best friend to death while partying in the town, the Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick heard.

Jose Claudio Domingos, aged 44, with an address at Old Limerick Road, Charleville, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his best friend, Alberto Do Prado Oliveira, 47, on September 21, 2006.

The trial before Mr Justice Paul Carney heard yesterday that the two had gone to the flat of Dilmar Teixeira in Main Street. They played music and drank strong Brazilian alcohol.
