Fine Gael labels stamp duty reform ‘a fraud’

THE Government’s reform of stamp duty has been labelled “a fraud” by Fine Gael.

Over the summer, the Government abolished the duty for first-time buyers.

But opposition figures said wealthy first-time buyers would benefit hugely, while under-pressure second-time buyers would still have to pay huge sums in stamp duty.
