Study: 80% of child car seats improperly fitted

A SHOCKING 80% of child car safety seats are improperly installed, a new study reveals. And almost half of the badly fitted seats offer no protection in a traffic accident.

The findings emerged after the Road Safety Authority (RSA) invited parents to have their child seats checked free of charge.

Most shocking of all was that at least half of the incorrectly fitted seats had such serious problems they would have offered no protection in a collision.
