Gooch boots make fan’s day

COLM ‘The Gooch’ Cooper scored his greatest goal yesterday when he made a present of his football boots to a nine-year-old fan in Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin.

Chloe Scollard from Castleisland, Co Kerry, who is being treated in the hospital’s isolation unit watched her Kerry heroes win the All-Ireland on TV from her bed with her parents, Marie Scollard and Tommy Hannon. Even though Colm — the Man of the Match, gave her his boots, Chloe stressed that she had no favourite team member.

And she had no intention of putting the boots in a glass case. “They are going under the bed with my other boots,” she said.
